Pieces like this always remind me of a scene from one of my favorite western movies, Shane. In the scene, Shane, a gunfighter trying to shed his past by going to work for a farmer allows the farmer’s son to talk him into a display of his prowess. The display wows the boy, but his mother, Marion, hearing the gunshots arrives and berets Shane for the gunplay. Shane quietly remonstrates with her. “A gun is a tool, Marion: as good or as bad as the man using it”.

Free speech issues aside (although of course they aren’t), this is a classic case of a very dilemma. Our most potent tools are always a double-edged sword.

Didn't (Doesn't) the ACLU defend Citizens United based on free speech? And here we are. I was hoping maybe you might argue lawsuits should fail, but offer some other remedy other than taking up smoking.
