Thank you Joyce Vance for all you are doing for our country.

this regime is definitely proud of their despicable behavior in their crackdowns by their thugs & goons.

Noem's team deliberately revealed the cell phone video from this agent, so for sure ICE thinks this video makes ICE look good, which is astonishing.

AGREED, and it’s not stopping, they feel they are untouchable !!

they jump on any platform they can for media clicks

That’s all they’re about, no morals, ethics or character just clicks and likes

Can her family bring a civil suit and how likely can they win.

Deeply disappointing to have Elie Honig come on as a guest, hijack the discussion, and seemingly put Joyce’s viewpoint on trial. Joyce is committed to civil discourse. It’s fine for Elie to represent opposing views, but not fine when he is so combative. I had to turn off the video. Have had enough of uncivil discourse in our country without being exposed to it here.

Elie, give it up. I did not see the car make contact. What’s your dog in this fight?

I hope I never have to listen to this idiot talk to anybody on substack or any other station again. What a fool.

It's weird, my reaction was the opposite. I've read things by Honig in the past with which I strongly disagreed, and took him for a none too bright contrarian. I mostly disagreed with him this time too, but conclude that his arguments were in good faith and sincere. He did come down the correct side. As they agreed, this case will never come to trial or even be charged, so however unfair, another win for the fascists

I sadly agree with you. One point to make is that Honig too often falls into the trap of false equivalency, what-about-it-ism as if the victims, the Minnesota/Minneapolis officials were equally at fault to Trump’s administration on this incident.

Ellie, I have no idea what you're looking at when you say Ross was hit by the car driven by murder victim Renee Nicole Good. You may be a RICO expert. But I think your glasses need another layer of thickness. Great job Joyce!

Joyce, your excellent legal analysis and willingness to stand by your statements and analysis, keep an open mind, and maintain your composure during this type of peer to peer discussion puts you above the rest. This was an interesting exchange between lawyers and an honest reflection on how to comport oneself in an open forum. Fantastic.

AG Elie? God help us. HE should never be in any role other than Cable TV pundit. He is only slightly less annoying than Scott Jennings.

Cheryl Thomas's avatar

? Pethaps you are saying that Ellie was not speculating because he seemed so sure of himself? I may have jumped to my own conclusion that he must have been speculating because there is no video evidence of contact between the car and the ICE agent. I do totally agree with Vance.

ELIE HONG NEVER FORGET THIS A******'S NAME.

So very vanilla. Good was assassinated. 3 shots while holding his phone filming. One through front windshield that likely mortally wounded her and incapacitated her then 2 more through side window. No way this is in the realm of defending himself. Did you mention after she was already dead yelling fuckin bitch at her? This is male anger. Ross is given license to act it out then defended and moved for his protection. This is a common occurence in relationships played out in public and supported by Trump supporters just like pedophelia etc. do you fret over pedophelia and the ongoing cover up to protect the rich and famous? The law no longer exists in the form you were trained in. We are a nation of laws that are meaningless and apparently unenforcible.

I see that his cell phone jiggles as he changes his phone from right to left hand. This may look to some that he was hit by the car. another angle may answer this question

MsEgwene's avatar

This one made me thing he likely gets bumped by the headlight a little bit. Zero signs of him moving out of the way.

Ellie you too are drawing conclusions. Do you not understand that? You would be a good defense lawyer for him. This is a case where there will be no accountability but there will not be exoneration.

MsEgwene's avatar

Actually, HE is the one that's drawing conclusions. She says the evidence hasn't convinced her in either direction, he's saying it did convince him.

Kelly WENSTRUP's avatar

Listening to Elie defend the shooter and fellow officers is a take, but he doesn't need to belittler Joyce while he's at it. Not collegial.

Why does no one point to the hideously creative lying our national “leaders” instantly shat into public discourse

This wouldn’t have happened under VP Kamala if she were president!!!
